Jose responded immediately to my request for a quote. He suggested colors and we signed a contract. He and his employees were professional, always wearing a mask. He made repairs to the wood around my garage door, replaced a rain downspout, and replaced my retrofit recessed lights in the house. Innovative Painting, led by owner Jose Guzman, just finished painting our two story 115 year old Berkeley home. From our initial contact with Jose, through the actual work by the Innovative crew, and on to follow ups, our experience was excellent.   Jose was very easy to communicate with: keeping to our agreed on dates and times for estimating the work, starting and finishing the job, and staying in touch with us throughout the project. The Innovative  crew did excellent work, including meticulous scraping, sanding, patching, priming, and painting (two coats for each surface, sprayed and then second spray coat back rolled for best coverage). Jose has a carpenter who took great care of some added on work of removal and replacement of bad wood sections. The crew did a very good job each day of cleaning the job site and organizing their materials  and disposing their trash.  They did a good job of cleaning the paint chip debris at the end of the project, and were consistently careful about our plants and landscaping.  As an aside, it was fun to hear the crew singing and laughing while they worked here–a good sign to me of a healthy and well managed organization. Innovative’s pricing was excellent, and notably lower than our other estimates. The results are beautiful, and consistent with or much better than other paint jobs we’ve had done over the 32 years we’ve lived here.  I expect this paint job to hold up very well, and for issues that come up within a reasonable time, Im confident that Jose and team will come back to take care of them. I’m happy then to give Innovative Painting and Jose Guzman the highest rating, and our unequivocal endorsement.
